Sunset Hills Montessori School

Reston Pre-School and Private Elementary 20th Anniversary. Sunset Hills Montessori School is nestled in the woods of Reston, on the edges of Lake Audubon and Lake Thoreau. We provide a peaceful school setting for children ages 18 months to 3rd grade.

Jillian Kiendl (Upper Elementary Assistant Teacher/Primary Art Specialist) My name is Jillian Kiendl and I have lived in Northern Virginia for 3 years, but am originally from Western New York. I have been teaching art at the elementary level since 2005, as well as computer technology, both in New York and Colorado. I have a passion for art and am very excited to bring it to life here at Sunset Hills Montessori School!

Vivian Hosley (Spanish Teacher) Vivian Hosley is a CPA with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, but her real passion is working with children. She obtained her AMI certification in 1995.  She relocated from Austin, TX in 2004 and moved to Northern VA.  Here, her three children attended SHMS when they were 3, 5, and 7 years old.  She got the opportunity to work as a Primary Lead teacher in 2005 for a couple of years.  After almost 6 years, Vivian returned to SHMS in 2013 to work as the Spanish teacher for the Primary level.  This year she is teaching Spanish for the Pre Primary and Elementary.  She also cooks with the Elementary class.  Vivian is very excited to be back at SHMS and enjoys working with the children again.

Neelu Pant (Primary Art Specialist) Neelu has been at Sunset Hills Montessori since 2005.  She started as a roving assistant and is currently an Enrichment Art Teacher for the Primary Program.  Neelu received her Master’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Delhi, India.  There, she started her career by teaching 4th and 5th graders.  Neelu has a variety of hobbies including singing, reading and traveling.

Alex Dixon (Primary Art Specialist) I am originally from Leesburg, Virginia, however I grew up on the coast of North Carolina.  I moved to Northern Virginia in September of 2012 and started working at Sunset Hills in February of 2013.  I have always loved children and knew that I wanted to work with people in one way or another.   I am thankful to have been given this opportunity to work with such an amazing staff and wonderful children.  I love my SHMS family!
