Tina Ashby

Tina was born and raised in Vietnam until she was ten years old. After graduating at George Mason University in 2012 with her BA in Psychology, Tina wanted to gain some experience working with children before applying to graduate school. It is then that her Montessori journey began at SHMS. After working for a few years as an assistant, Tina fell in love with Montessori and decided to pursue a career in Montessori teaching. In 2016, Tina received her Montessori credential at Northern Virginia Montessori Institute. Tina’s favorite Montessori teaching topic is Grace and Courtesy. She also loves cultural lessons as she loves learning about new cultures with her students and sharing her Vietnamese culture. After all the years as a teacher, Tina is excited to have her son attending SHMS! When she is not teaching, Tina enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing DIY projects, crafting, cooking, and trying new foods.

For my daughter, the educational foundation that she gained through the curriculum, teachers and administration at Sunset Hills Montessori School is what made her succesful today. She was fortunate to be able to attend Sunset Hills through middle school. As a result of the educational foundation gained at Sunset Hills, my daughter was prepared for high school, graduated with honors, recieved academic scholarships to college and is grateful for her time at Sunset Hills.
